To the Minds of Light Community,

My name is Alison Jones and I am the proud founder of Minds of Light. I'm autistic and I consider that a unique part of who I am. I'm a mom to two amazing daughters and a granddaughter who are all on the autism spectrum. I also have a wonderful son and son-in-law.

Growing up, being autistic was tough because people didn't always understand what that meant. Becoming a parent to my autistic kids was a big challenge too, because I had to learn a lot of things by myself. I had to figure out how to do well at work, how to handle money, and how to take care of my family.

That's why I started Minds of Light. I wanted to make a place where autistic adults could love, help, mentor, and support each other. We're here to tell everyone that being autistic is not bad at all. In fact, it makes us special. We want to be part of the world around us and we want that world to understand and help us.

Being an autistic parent with autistic kids was hard, but it's something I am proud of. Now, I want to make sure other parents and people on the autism spectrum get the help and resources they need.

I really enjoy working with other people who are autistic. It makes me happy to think that I can help make their lives better. I see them grow and change every day, and that's really exciting. Minds of Light is all about celebrating who we are and showing the world how bright we can shine.
